4th and 5th day !

Yay!! Finally my vegan days are over !! *Carnivorous activated*

4th Day
i I never felt better! Really light and it does not bother me that I am not eating meat ! ;) However lower back pain has returned, so it is confirmed that Nutrimeal does not heal my back pain. I was too nervous throughout the day therefore did not notice anything. Dinner , I managed to control my little cravings while my friends had Ayam Penyet.;) See ??
5th Day
The last day and I was so happy ! I reward myself with at the end of my vegan day with a teeeny bit of chicken salad at KFC. Nice, I can resist the KFC Chicken ;) Tomorrow starts the start of my new day.

I find that USANA has tone me a little, and it has helped my concentration. However, detox effect is obvious from pimples, and lethargy during the first few days.;) Might differ for some of you. Ary cut me some slack for the missing 3rd day, if not I had to start all over again ! I miss my chicken ! ;))

The Ugly Truth.

The last movie I watched with girlfriends. It was hilarious, cliched romance but not typical storyline and characters. Lovesit ! Ending is also cliched .Katerine Heigl looks hot !

Eco-Chic.

Fashion is gearing towards eco-friendly now, and what better way to start than buying eco-friendly bags ! These bags can be bought at all major outlets and even restaurants such as Nandos, etc.. If you want a pretty yet cheap option, check out Brands Outlet! Their eco bags are only priced at rm 10, and darn cute !I cannot find pictures on Google but I pick the closest. Go check them out and be eco chic now.;)

p/s : I use Nandos eco bag by Melinda Looi to classes and my friends love it ;)

4th Day, technically 3rd.

Because I have an open house yesterday, I stopped my vegan RESET program and decided to pig on 6 sticks of satay, one samosa, about 8 glasses of multicolored gassy drinks, and two bowls of Mee Bandung gravy because my mate Arif has served a sumptious spread. Therefore yesterday does not count. Im starting 3rd day today. I had soymilk with USANA Nutrimeal today, and i think soymilk is the best to have Nutrimeal with, because it made my shake creamy. However, do pick a less sugar version such as Soyfresh as it is more creamy and the Nutrimeal is already sweet on its own. Better yet, use plain water with more scoops ! As for me, I stand with one scoop. No light headedness, and i feel a LOT better than the previous days. I crave naughty food still, but if you see the above, I barely took any carbs right ? Good girl. ;) Maybe USANA does control your carbs craving.;) I have exams tomorrow and the next, so ill be updating after these two days. Wish me luck yah !

3rd Day Of USANA Reset Program.

I feel even less lethargic and light headed compared to the last 2 days. Ary has been giving moral support to me, giving advices and all. 'Accidents' such as yesterday occured because our body reacts differently to the foods we consumed after taking USANA. Guess what !I noticed why the Nutrimeal tastes so good, it contains original fibre! Maybe grain or something. I noticed it while consuming my shake early this morning. So far so good, and I feel light. Occasional pimples and slight bloating have occured too..Maybe period around the corner or detoxifying effect. Another good point, my forever back pain has lessened. I do not know if it is due to USANA or other factor, but hey good for me.;)) Oh, on a negative note, I am craving nasi kandar with fried chicken and chicken satay.;((( Till next day ;))

2nd Day of Usana RESET Program.

My 2nd day was not as lethargic as the 1st day, as in no light headedness. However, I cheated ( according to Ary ) with three spoonfuls of stir fry long beans with anchovies, courtesy of Asra my housemate. I mean, I cannot ignore those lovely dishes as she went through all the trouble to cook. However, I almost had an 'accident' at night perhaps due to the cheating. I went to the toilet everyday now, something new to me. IMHO again, apple and french vanilla do not make a good combination. However, because the USANA shake is already delicious, it is not so bad. Like banana and cranberry combination somewhat.I have an open house tomorrow. Lord help me.

First Day Of Usana Reset Program.

I decided to fast , considering it can help my cravings although the website recommended drinking plenty of water and not leave our stomach empty. I added one scoop of Nutrimeal with 300ml yogurt drink for sahur, and it was delicious ! IMHO, soya bean works the best as it is french vanilla and it is deliciously delicious i tell you ! Never has any protein shake tastes this nice. Ary recommended sunquick, soya bean and twister orange. The choice is yours, as they say. I don't feel so filled to the brim, but I was not hungry either. However, after 3 oclock, I started to feel light headed so I decided to go to bed. It is not so bad ! I guess I can survive another 4 days ;))

Till Next time. ;)

USANA RESET Program. ( Post copied )

Inspired and copied from Elleblanche post, because hers is simple and interesting.

WHAT IS USANA ?
USANA is a company with well-known high quality nutritional products. USANA is quite new in Malaysia in which it came in 2007. Although it’s still new in Malaysia, but it is already well-known worldwide. USANA Essentials (one of its product) were ranked “Best of the Best” in the latest (4th Ed.) of MacWilliam’s guide (Comparative Guide To Nutritional Supplements). The product is also one of four to receive highest Gold Medal rating. USANA is also a multiple-year winner of the Utah Best of State Award for Best Dietary Supplement Company and all of their products are listed in Master Index of Medical Specialties (MIMS).

HOW I KNOW USANA ?
I was introduced by Mrs Imran and Ary, and decided to try after searching the net for negative effects of the USANA diet and found none. It is most important that there are no negative effects as the net is filled with horror stories of other dieting programs, of which I shall omit from writing.

Anyway, I heard about USANA for quite some time before deciding on trying. The three main issues that I consider are :
The Testimonials : Includes Tun Dr. M, and I feel Tun will not be easily cheated.;) Most of the testimonials are honest without the amazing stories of not exercising and losing. The goal to a hot body remains maintaining a healthy diet, no matter what. I feel an honest company can deliver honest results.
The Seller : Ary, who is my supplier, is extremely honest in business. USANA is more than just a business to her, she personally achieved good results from it thus it is more like her helping people get healthy. Other sellers like Leeds and Mrs Imran never fail to be honest in their business, maintaining the importance of healthy eating. No wonderfully fabricated stories designed simply to gain money. What you see is what you get

Pricing : At only rm 110, I feel that it is the cheapest and most affordable for a student like me. There are other protein diet program out there, but USANA is most affordable.

How USANA works :

USANA works like any protein shake diet, where it supplies a low Glycemic protein shake that will give us energy and control our carbs craving by making us full, thus less food intake. It is no miracle diet, as you need to maintain a healthy diet, which is the key to losing weight. Some of us are successful in controlling their food intake without any products, and kudos to them. For people like me with yo-yo tendency to diet, we need the help of products to control our craving. Bear in mind, this is no miracle diet. The key is always controlling your food intake.

Protein is known to help build muscle, so for couch potatoes like me who hates exercising, we can take protein supplements to help control flabbiness due to lack of exercise and control our cravings.

USANA apply a RESET program of 3 steps, where you can choose to follow two or three steps;

5 Days RESET Program
-Take only USANA Nutrimeal shake for 5 days with vegetables and fruits. Do light exercises, and drink at least 8 glasses of water.

After 5 Days RESET
-Replace any two meals with USANA Nutrimeal, and have one normal meal. Maintain a healthy diet. Continue this until you achieve your desired weight.

Maintenance
Have USANA Nutrimeal at least once a day.

I am really attracted to try this product and should it work, helps all of you out there. But, in order to distribute this, I have to try. So I will blog about my USANA experience and let you all in the USANA diet. For more USANA information, do contact Ary. I am in no way affiliated with USANA, and this is not a paid entry.

Facebooking.

The Facebook bug is here. I caught it. I rather spend my first Raya managing my Farm than visiting relatives unless good food is guaranteed. Spank me ! Oh here is a pic for Ammar Redzuan yang berada di JB tapi x bagi sms ;)))

My raya dress came unfinished, my last haircut is severe, and i have exams on the 29th. However Hari Raya is not about me, so I must celebrate it with Grace. Selamat Hari Raya Maaf Zahir Batin and when celebrating, do not forget the poor and the Palestinians whom have to celebrate in winter without warm clothing to battle the harsh weather. Pray for their health ya..and donate if you can. I leave you guys to salivate with the above pic of my favorite Raya dish, err maybe not so Raya but i am from Johor and I love kuah lodeh.;) Best eaten with cube rice or nasi empet. See you guys after final ! Goodluck MMU students !

Gastronomic Ramadhan* no pics* very safe.

Do you noticed how even before Ramadhan started, buffets promotions and whatnots started filling the spaces at the newspaper. Prices are quite expensive these days, yet everyone went, mostly families and big groups to try the gastronomic delights each outlet offered. My family is no exception, but they ( mom, dad, 2 brothers and sometimes the addition of one or two cousins and Grandma) are all light eaters. I am proudly the only one worth taking, and sometimes my parents had to stop me from taking things from the arrays of food ( coz theyre embarassed ). Debates aside, sometimes it is the opportunity of having to spend more time with families and the quality of time spent that measures the value of a buffet. Nowadays, both parents are working and cannot afford the energy and time to cook. That is why hotel buffets are chosen, to dine and spend time with families minus the tiredness and messes caused by cooking and sometimes preparing food at home. Most hotels provide surau so it is easy to pray too.If people can brave the throngs of Ramadhan bazaars during this h1n1 crisis, more power to them. My family always went to Ramadhan bazaars after buka puasa to check the stalls where amazing things can be found to avoid the crowd. But of course, my opinion is entirely mine. I know some families do not like to eat out, preferring moms cooking. Mine seldom cook, but when she does, her dishes will be gone in seconds, because we appreciate the rare time she spent. Rare and valuable indeed lolx!

Anyway, enough of my Ramadhan. Here are some outlets I have tried :
Quality Hotel Shah Alam
Good variety, but the quality of cutlery and location of buffet needs to be reviewed. Messy, but good food.
Grand BlueWave Shah Alam
Normal, so -so.
S.7 Youth Centre Restaurant
Recommended by my Dad's friend, very cheap and in accordance with price. Do not expect much. For the price of 30ish I think, expect the best.;)
Melaka Sentral Bazaar
The only bazaar I have been to, and I do not like the repetition of food on sale. No variation of cuisine. Maybe I am getting picky, so kill me. Very long..
Bazaar Peringgit
Must check for MMU students. This is the bazaar that provides food choices close to my palatte. Nice one.
Masjid Tanah Bazaar, Malacca.
Boy and Elle wanted a picnic-cum-buka puasa spread so we went to Masjid Tanah which is also my dad's hometown. Nice food, however attitude of sellers are horrible. I wore shorts, and they publicly and LOUDLY debate my religion. WTF ?? Funnily, elle told me not to speak Malay but when I was buying, I can totally understand the questions. Hahaha.Konon x pandai ckp Melayu..lolx

The rest of my Ramadhan was spent slaving over the stove, with hmates cooking for Buka Puasa. I do not feel like eating rice and all, and with the limited choices in Melaka, we spent it all cooking. Lolx. This post will be updated with more outlets ok.Till next time !

The Best.

Taken from Sue's blog. ;))

THE%20FREE%20GAZA%20MOVEMENT

THE%20FREE%20GAZA%20MOVEMENT

1. We all remember the brutal Israeli attacks against Gaza last year. Many of us were outraged by the killings of some 1,300 Gazan Palestinian, men, women, the disabled, the children, the sick and the maimed. Hospitals and schools were destroyed.

2. The condemnation of this brutal assaults had forced the Israelis to stop the massive retaliation against alleged Hamas rocket attacks against Israel.

3. Many of the rich countries had pledged billions in aid for the rebuilding of Gaza.

4. After that, things became quiet. There was hardly any report in the press on what was happening. I suppose most people assume that the reconstruction of Gaza was proceeding apace.

5. But the reality is far different. The Egyptians limited the medicine and the building materials from entering Gaza from its territory. The sea is blockaded illegally by the Israelis. The people of Gaza have literally been made prisoners by these actions.

6. The Free Gaza Movement led by Huwaida Arraf was set up in order to send needed supplies to beleaguered Gaza. But after five small boats were successful in delivering much need supplies, the Israeli navy began to intercept them and forcing them to abort their humanitarian aid.

7. One small boat with a number of Palestinians, Arabs, European and American (a U.S. Congresswoman) was rammed by Israeli warships. The people in the boat, all civilians were thrown into the sea. Luckily they survived.

8. Recently another little boat, loaded with food, medicine, stationery for school use and toys, with 25 unarmed civilians including a Nobel Peace Laureate from Ireland and the American women candidate for presidency of the U.S. was fired at by Israeli commandos, who then boarded the boat, giving rough treatment to the people on board.

9. Repeated shouts on the loudhailer that there were only unarmed civilians and the boat carried no arm failed to stop the commandos. The boat was steered by the commandos to an Israeli port and the people on board were thrown into Israeli jails.

10. The people of the Free Gaza Movement have now been released. They are determined to carry on sailing from Cyprus to Gaza to bring relief.

11. Winter is coming and it will be bitterly cold in Gaza. A great number of the Gazans whose houses were destroyed by the Israelis have no shelter and would suffer terribly in the winter.

12. Modern civilization is supposedly very concerned about human rights. It is only right that we care for those heroes and heroines who are standing up to oppressive Governments.

13. But shouldn't we also be concerned and caring for the 1½ million people of Gaza, who had lost 1,300 fellow inhabitants, whose houses, schools and hospitals have been destroyed, who do not have water or sanitary facilities, who will be without shelter from the coming winter.

14. It is sad that Governments who had pledged aid have so readily allowed the Israelis to blockade Gaza. It is disgusting that Israel can break international laws with impunity.

15. I went to Cyprus to meet these brave members of the Free Gaza Movement. I was shocked at how tiny was the only fishing boat that they still have for future trips to Gaza.

16. I had been sailing in a much bigger yacht and I know how rough was the sea. Yet 25 people dare to sail in this tiny boat, sleeping on the open deck, being seasick, being without proper food, and being made to face Israeli attacks. We really live in an uncivilized world where the fate of one or two people, useful for condemning certain Governments are constantly played up, yet the suffering, the freedom of 1½ million Gazans are ignored. I admire then Gazans whose main concern is for their right to be a free people, free that is from Israeli oppression, supported by the rich people who talk a lot about human rights and freedom.

17. I don't think I would be able to endure the kind of discomfort and dangers faced by the activists of the Free Gaza Movement. All I can do is to give moral support to them.

18. Malaysians who wish to do so may volunteer to sail with these intrepid people. But if they cannot, then they can contribute towards their need to buy a bigger boat as no one would rent boats to them.

19. The PGPO (Perdana Global Peace Organisation) would like to appeal for donations in aid of the Free Gaza Movement members to purchase a small ship to carry cement and building materials apart from medicine and food etc.

20. All contributions by cheque can be issued to: KLFCW (Gaza Fund). KLFCW stands for the Kuala Lumpur Foundation to Criminalise War. The cheques can be addressed to the KLFCW c/o Perdana Global Peace Organisation, 5th Floor, 88, Jalan Perdana, Taman Tasik Perdana, 50480 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Cash contributions can be channeled to KLFCW Maybank Account: 5123 3430 6634.

Kartika.

Within seconds, one woman and one nation are brought to fame, by a decision to cane a beer drinking lady. Now, I have no comment on this matter for lack of knowledge. However, I do have a few questions :

1. Is this the correct Hudud or Syariah punishment for beer drinking ?
2. Kartika has publicly accepted her punishment and she has publicly apologized. Repentance is between God and man, but when she has feel sorry, shouldn't she be given pardon ? That is my understanding of Islam.
3. Can the Malaysian courts carry on this punishment legally ?
4. Is Hudud law or Syariah law on caning for drinking beer constitutionalized ?
5.I heard the punishment is not as severe as one imagined, she will only feel a tiny bit of pain, if done in accordance with Syariah or coded Hudud.

Can anyone enlighten me ?What do you all think ?

Wise men says * Thanks Julie *
