No-Rooz.

No-Rooz means new day in Persian. It is a celebration of a Persian New Year when the Persian calendar begins in Spring. This is a traditional Iranian festival,a mystic one where they celebrated the beginning of new life in Spring.Iranians prepared for NoRooz during end of winter by spring cleaning their house. On the day, they bought new clothes and decorated their houses with flowers, in particular Hyacinth and Tulips. On the very day of No-Rooz,they decorated their tables with 7 items, where 7 is a greatest number, to symbolize triumph of good over evil. These items are vinegar, apple, garlic, nigella seeds, wild olive, sumac, and live fish to symbolize life. The Holy Book of Quran is placed on the table. This festival is very interesting where mythical beliefs are still practised. I took some pics, and MMU students, do drop by their booth at CLC. Hot Persians guaranteed !

Armin van Buuren ft Sharon den Adel - In and Out of Love

Im a late bloomer,I know. While trance has entranced Malaysia for more than a few years, I was contended to club in rnb. Until this song, that is. Sharon den Adel has sultry, relaxing vocal and the soothing trance music is extremely relaxing. The lyric is simple and nice. Now i can see the appeal.;)

When I grow up.

I had a conversation with a kawaii girl on people's perception that law students will be lawyers. We both agreed that while it is not negative, it is very judgmental. Do u know that the creator of Rocking Reptiles is a lawyer, and she turned shoe mogul because she realized it is not for her?Law,that is. I can relate.

I realized a little too late that law is not for me. When I started my Legal Attachment,it is served to me how I cannot imagine myself becoming a member of the Bar. I want to be a philanthropist, help people in need. I find great pleasure in that. But of course, life is not a piece of cake. I am scared of poverty, and getting a rich husband is not peachykeen. Im no heiress either.

A career in the entertaintment field, seems interesting. So is becoming a beauty consultant,or a makeup artist.Makeups are my escapade. But there are many talented ones out there,I am merely another fish in the sea. What can a law grad obtain in the world of prodigies.I dont mind starting from below, but seriously my chance seems dim.

I guess the best thing to do is study, and finish my degree.Like Asad said, if I can bear with it till now,I can bear till the end. Finish magna cum laude and then pursue my interest. By then,I will be financially and intellectually capable to pursue my dreams, and maybe land a secure guy or two. Insya Allah.

My Most Shopaholic Moment

In conjunction with the movie Confessions of a Shopaholic, I decided to confess my shopaholic moments. I have a lot of shopaholic moments which I am sure lots of shopaholics like me can relate to. A true shopaholic moment, for me, is one when we were extremely broke yet still succumb and the next day was spent consoling and justifying our lusts the day before.
Well, my shopaholic moment happened last few months, I think during the time when Pavilion held a promotion for Platinum cardholder, where every holder is entitled for 10% discounts and the participating outlets are mostly designer-expensive-and-not-for-me shops. My mother suddenly had this desire to buy a designer handbag when told of this promotion, and being a True Shopaholic( Scratch this ) good daughter I decided to survey for her. With rm 10 in my wallet, no more, and a rapidly dwindling account, I braved the stares of haughty salesgirls with one of my Designer bags and shoes (I only have two) and most expensive dress (one of those occasions when my mom realized she only have one daughter) and entered the shops.
The first shop I entered is Banana Republic. I put on a snobbish-I-have-money attitude and tried a few dresses. Seriously, I think I was so convincing the salesperson was nicely attending me. I tried more than 20 dresses in the amazingly comfy and convenience changing room, and one caught my eye. It fits me oh-so perfectly, and it was a black hybrid (formal-non formal) knee length dress. Perfect for my court events and whatnots and sexy enough for any casual event. It hugs my curves and makes me looked like I have Eva Mendes curves. I was torn and started calculating my bank balance and whether I can use charm on my parents or survive on Maggi for months. It was on sale, and even more so with the Platinum card. I reserved the dress, with a mental note to beg my mom to buy it for me, or borrow her card, I left and entered Aigner.

Aigner was like usual, not many things caught my fancy, maybe because the designs cater for serious people. I approached only the salesgirl who knew my parents because honestly, I turned a chicken when it comes to these Melium boutiques. It is like, they somehow can see through my charade. I entered various designer outlets like Furla, Longchamp etc and nothing exciting happened. However, my heart beated really fast when I entered Hugo Boss. This amazingly cute black bag that I wanted was on 60% sale! It was like Sasha Bashir said, my Fashion Fairy Godmother was there and waving her wand at me! I tried various colors, like I am the owner of the Card instead of only having rm 10 in my wallet and after awhile, you start to believe your own imagination. I settled and reserved the bag under my mom’s name and walked out. I was so confident with myself, I entered Juicy Couture and of course their sale was always bargain worthy and Marc by Marc Jacobs. After trying this and that, I withdraw a sum from my extremely dwindling bank account and on impulse bought a simple shirt from MJ which I spent the whole moment convincing myself that it was worth the price and starvation that might follow and repeatedly told myself that it is my first MJ.I was seriously skipping all the way home.

Typical of my mom, she decided not to waste her husband’s hard earned money on designer bags but instead on a trip to Indonesia with her friends. When the boutiques called her, she simply said that she changed her mind, and ignoring her daughter’s tear stricken face, simply set aside her plea with a cruel sentence like “If you cannot afford do not buy.” In the end, I did not get my dream bag, but I got the experience that designer outlets are not that intimidating when I can survive it all with rm 10 in my wallet and still treated like I actually can afford it. But of course the heartache is too unbearable. Therefore I made a promise to myself to only tempt temptation when my parents are willing and of course when I can afford it.

P/S : Happy Women's Day to all and Happy Maulidur Rasul ;)

Rosemary's Baby

You guys know the horror movie with Mia Farrow, Rosemary's Baby ? Well, I found the e-book yesterday and decided to re-experience the whole horror thing. Turns out the book irritate me to death and my honest, innocent roommate suffered the brunt by lending an unwilling ear to my complains. Rosemary seems so stupid to me. Hello, why are you so trustworthy of your husband ? Can't you just quietly do things without telling him ? Like heelo? Seriously, it took her a little too late to see the fact that her cute-actor hubby Guy is the culprit, well one of them anyway. However, my bitterness might be due to the fact that I am bitter due to sooo many things to be done in such a short stint of time.

These might cheer me up :

1. Papa John Pizza indulgence with Andy this weekend ( yes, my ex Andy. Despite the odds, we managed to stay as platonic as good friends can be. We are even comfy telling each other crushes and such.He is the best dining pal I know, maybe because he knows how messy I am, no need to pretend Haha )

2. Chilis chicken tenders.

3. Italiannes Pasta. Notice the carbs cravings??

4. Shopping at La senza. The need to feel kinky ..;p

5. New products from organically good Aesop at Pavi. I want the shampoo and the Primrose Mask. They work wonders to my face ( now filled with pimples and fine lines ) and stress level.

6. A new, or a few new dresses .

7.Make out session with Sadegh. Ha..Ha..Ha.. Honestly, I do not know whether I am just plain horny or just crazy with stress, but I saw him yesterday and he is so much cuter than the last time I saw him. He got blondish hair now, and his Persian good looks just glittered. Like, Literally. God, I need to get myself checked. After all that I went through, and all that I found out about him, he still managed to get me so high. A friend obviously have the hots for him too and I ended up talking about him more than I should. Miss him so much and please, I might change this tomorrow so do not take it seriously.Haihh Mohammad Sadegh Samaei, after all the things, and all ur friends' hatred towards me for not returning your shirt, why am I such a fool to miss you ?? It must be horniness. I know it must be.

Beauty Tips

Skincare Products

1. Wash your face just enough to remove dirt and makeup, not to leave skin feeling tight.
2. You wouldn’t leave the house without brushing your teeth - the same goes for wearing broad-spectrum SPF15 (minimum).
3. You can use regular cream around the eyes; we often do.
4. Choose a moisturiser with antioxidants hat protects skin from the elements.
5. Reapply moisturiser hourly when flying, if you don’t want to look DOA.
6. Look for anti-aging cream with retinoids. It works.
7. Apply anti-aging or -acne ingredients before any other products to keep from blocking their penetration.
8. More isn’t always better; a pea-sized mount of face cream is enough.
9. Exfoliate skin every week with a gentle scrub.
10. If you want real results, give products up to 6 months to work.

I got this from BeautyHolics Anonymous.

p/s: Juli Teo, Im refraining from opening your blog that often now. Your talk on Lao foo Shan and whatnots made me HUNGRY!!!;p On the other hand, ur entries are like the Hardy Boys adventures. Ngehehe.;)

Kak Leeds, I absolutely have your insecurities too. Once, I saw a pic of Shakira, and she have bellies just like mine on a good, skinny day and everyone commented like,OMG SHES SO FAT!! I feel like jumping off IXORA apartment. Honestly. But the website is good for motivation on dieting. ;)
